		SCHOOL DATA & REPORTS: SPECIAL EDUCATION FUNDING PROJECTIONS (Updated 7/23/09)     These reports show estimated state funding amounts by school district for various special education funding categories.     FY 2010 SPECIAL EDUCATION FUNDING PROJECTIONS BASED ON APPROPRIATION ACT (Updated 7/23/09)       Special Education Field Memo #09-08 - Update on Special Education Funding Formula Projections for FY-2010 Dated July 22, 2009 (Added 7/23/09) During the last legislative session, the amount appropriated for the FY-2010 for the State Special Education Funding formula was level funded from FY-2009. The legislature did this even though the K-12 special education costs based on the FY-2010 Service Plan increased by 3.8% over the estimated costs for FY-2009. The legislature was counting on the fact that additional funds – namely IDEA-B ARRA funds – are available to school districts to help offset the increased cost of special education.  This means that the calculation will be based on a 60% State share and that the Special Education Expenditures Reimbursement rate will be set to create the 60% State share.
